The Student/Applicant must complete and submit the Hope Lutheran Church Student Application and Essay. The deadline for submission of the application and essay to the Church is 30 days prior to the start of school. We ask that this deadline be adhered to as much as possible so there is sufficient time for the review and approval of the application and the subsequent installment payment of the scholarship funds. Scholarships are awarded once a year and each Scholarship covers only one school year. Students will be required to reapply annually. The scholarship money for Students attending a college or university is typically given to the student in August and January of each year. For Students attending a seminary or trade school their checks will be given to them prior to the start of their school year. Students will be limited to receiving a total of eight scholarship installment payments. If a Student does not complete the school year, they are to return their scholarship money to the Church.
- The Student/Applicant must attend either a two or four-year accredited university or college or a recognizable career / trade school. An eligible college, university or career/ trade school is one where the student would qualify for financial aid from Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students pursuing advanced or graduate degrees are not eligible for a scholarship.
