Jennifer Sommers - Administrative Manager (back to top)

Jennifer Sommers joined the staff of Hope Church on September 11, 2017 as Administrative Manager. Prior to joining Hope Church, I worked full-time as a paralegal for a family law practice in the Lehigh Valley. I live in Palmerton and am happily married to my husband, Chad. We have two (2) amazing children, Caleb and Madison. My children are very involved in extra-curricular activities and sports, which keeps us on our toes and always on the move! I organize many events for the elementary school PTO and spend many nights on the soccer field. I am a member of First United Church of Christ in Palmerton, where I sit on many committees, organize events and teach Sunday School. My family is very active and always out and about. My favorite way to spend my spare time is with my children, reading, playing board games or going on hikes around town.

David Ziegler - Director of Music (back to top)

David Ziegler joined the staff at Hope Lutheran Church as Director of Music in September of 1989. He teaches and directs adults, youth, and children in the Senior, Youth, Junior and College choirs who sing in church regularly. Once every two years, the choirs all come together to perform a full length musical. In 2008, David arranged for the church musical to be performed at the Roxy Theater in Northampton where Sunday worship was held for one special week. He also created the Hope Orchestra. The orchestra consists of people of all ages and levels of experience. David has arranged various pieces of music for the orchestra to play on special occasions throughout the church year. The orchestra also occasionally accompanies the Senior Choir as well as the church musical.

David also works with the Bell Choir director and Cherub Choir director to oversee the overall music program at Hope. He plays in the Reformation Ringers bell choir under the direction of Janet Filchner. He has a degree in music education and is employed full time at American Express as a computer systems architect. When not at church or at work, he enjoys music, travelling, computers, bicycling and singing with Lehigh University Choral Union. David is married to Kathy Ziegler and has three daughters: Stephanie, Stacey and Shelbey, all of whom are heavily involved with the music program at Hope.
