Exciting news, everyone! Hope Lutheran's 50th Anniversary Committee is thrilled to announce a special challenge for all our congregation members. Will you accept it?
In honor of our 50th Anniversary established as a church, we are on a mission to collect 50 or more items each month to support various organizations in our community. To kick off this initiative, we are starting "locally" by gathering donations for Hope's Community Food Cupboard!
For the month of May, we are calling upon all of you to participate by donating popular food items such as peanut butter, canned meats, pasta and sauce, cereal, rice, soup, canned lasagna, and canned ravioli. A beautifully decorated box will be placed in the Narthex to gather all your generous donations.
Let's come together and make a meaningful impact on those in need within our community. Join us in accepting the committee's challenge each month and let's spread joy and support to our greater community. Together, we can make a difference!
Hope Lutheran Church is seeking two delegates to represent our congregation at the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod Assembly on June 8, 2024. The assembly will take place at Atonement Lutheran Church in Wyomissing, PA, and this year there is also an option to attend via Zoom.
We are looking for one male delegate and one female delegate to attend this important meeting. As a representative of Hope Lutheran Church, the chosen delegates will have the opportunity to participate in important discussions and decisions that will impact our synod and the wider church community.
If you are interested in serving as a delegate, please contact the church office at 610-767-7203 or email us at office@hopecherryville.org. We look forward to hearing from you and appreciate your willingness to represent our congregation at this important event.
Fire up your excitement and join us on Sunday, June 2nd at both services for a sizzling performance at Hope Lutheran Church! Our talented youth and adults are ready to serve up a musical feast with Barbecue for Ben.
Barbecue for Ben is a musical based on Luke 15:11-32 and is presented by Hope Lutheran's Junior Choir, Senior Choir and mini-orchestra.
The story of the prodigal son is set in a Sunday school classroom where the children quickly take over the lesson and tell the story in their own words. Director, Kim Roth, who has herself appeared in and directed many church musicals over the decades, is assisted by Trish Claypool, Deb Frey and Ginny Smith. The children have been rehearsing twice a week since February and their enthusiasm and energy continues to grow each week.
Barbecue for Ben is made possible through a donation from family and friends of Linda and Tom Sidor in honor of their 75th birthdays and in loving memory of their son, Thomas, and through a grant from the estate of Martha E Hontz, a long-time supporter of our youth musicals.
So get ready to be entertained, moved, and maybe even a little hungry as we bring this deliciously entertaining production to life. Mark your calendars, bring your family and friends, and let's spice up your Sunday with a musical experience that will leave you craving for more with God!
We regret to inform our congregation that an unfortunate incident has occurred at our church, causing damage to the car park area of the building. As a result, we kindly request that all members refrain from using the car park area until further notice. Additionally, access to the doors in this area will be restricted for safety reasons.
We understand that this may cause some inconvenience, but the safety of our congregation is of utmost importance to us. We would like to assure everyone that we are doing everything within our power to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we have temporarily relocated the Food Cupboard to the rear entrance at the middle wooden doors.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our church staff for assistance.
